Why do I need a conveyancing service?

Transferring ownership of land or improvements such as residential or commercial property is complex, and laws vary between states and territories. The process requires the preparation of a written contract of sale and careful management of documentation, milestones, and outcomes. When selling your property, we prepare everything that goes into the contract of sale and manage the process through exchange, preparation for settlement, and final settlement. Our experts work alongside you and your sales agent, finance partners such as mortgaging banks, and the buyer’s solicitor at every step, keeping you informed on how it’s all progressing.

If you’re buying, we’ll go over the seller’s contract with forensic precision, alerting you to any items you need to be aware of and negotiating amendments with the other party’s solicitor as we guide you through exchange to settlement and taking ownership of your new property.

Different states and territories have different settlement periods. In New South Wales, the conveyancing process usually takes 42 days (6 weeks). While this is the standard contract length, timing is negotiable depending on the preference of the vendor and purchaser and whether a mortgage is involved. Parsons & Partners offers Australia-wide conveyancing services, and our knowledge of what’s required in every state and territory is second to none.
